The wait is just about over as the Cheyenne community and surrounding areas anticipate the April 30 opening of the state’s first stand-alone Chick-fil-A restaurant that will provide the opportunity for local guests to participate in the First 100 event to celebrate the milestone opening.

After 11 years and nearly $24 million in free food given away, Chick-fil-A’s “First 100” celebration continues to be the chain’s signature grand opening event which transforms the restaurant parking lot into a 24-hour community friendly party as the crowd awaits the opening with those camping out being fed and the onsite staff providing games, activities and even a DJ for evening dancing.

The new Dell Range restaurant on 4435 Windmill Road will host the community First 100 event which will award more than $32,000 in free food. A digital offer card loaded with a one-year supply of free Chick-fil-A Meals will be given to each of the first 100 eligible adults, residing in specific zip codes and ages 18 and older with identification, in line when the doors open about 6 a.m. on Thursday, April 30. If more than 100 people are onsite when the line officially opens at 6 a.m. on Wednesday,
April 29, then all 100 spots will be determined by a drawing held that morning with those selected needing to camp out for 24 hours to secure their spot. For more information about the promotion and a full listing of rules and eligible zip codes visit www.chick-fil-a.com/Locations/First-100.

“For those serious about winning one of the year supplies, they should probably plan to get in line at the 24-hour mark to increase their chances for winning,” said Raymond Mefford, Operator of the new restaurant who is transferring from the mall location. “When we held the groundbreaking ceremony in October, even the governor and mayor talked about getting in line.”

The new Chick-fil-A restaurant will create nearly 60 jobs. Those interested in applying should do so in person during the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the hiring trailer located at the new location on the corner of Dell Range and Windmill Road. You can also apply online at cheyennechicken.com. Applications are being accepted for all positions including dining area, front counter, drive through, kitchen and prep. Positions are also available at the Frontier Mall Chick-fil-A location -- bringing the total of nearly 100 jobs being created between the two restaurants.

Among other benefits that include scholarships for continuing education, Chick-fil-A restaurant team members appreciate having Sundays off and the family atmosphere created at the restaurant. Chick-fil-A team members are key to the chain constantly being recognized in the industry for its customer service and awarding-winning menu. Recent awards include the 2014 LATINO Magazine’s inaugural Latino 100 which recognized the company for providing the most opportunities for Latin Americans as well as the 2014 Glassdoor Employee’s Choice Award that listed the top 50 companies at which to work with Chick-fil-A placing 43rd.

The new Chick-fil-A on Windmill Road is one of 88 new restaurants the chain plans to open across the country in 2015, creating more than 7,400 new jobs.
