Great news for new students in the power plant renewable energy programs at Casper College.

Thanks to the generosity of Chevron Global Power Company,these students can now apply for the Chevron Scholarship, worth $1,000 per semester. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is Friday, November 14th , 2014.

“Five $1000 scholarships are available through the support of Chevron Global Power Corporation and will help five students begin their future in renewable energy or power technology training,” said Lesley Travers, dean of the Casper College School of Business and Industry.

According to Travers, Casper College has partnered with Chevron Global Power Company since 2009 when Chevron built the Casper wind farm that provides 16.5 megawatts of electricity for the local grid. “Chevron Global Power has donated monies to the Casper College School of Business and Industry and has graciously provided tour opportunities for Casper College power technology and renewable energy classes. They have also hired four Casper College students and continue to partner with Casper College,” she added.
