Casper’s Midsummers Eve Clelebration Is Saturday

Crimson Dawn Museum will once again open it's doors for the annual Midsummers Eve Celebration, Saturday, June 21st. Crimson Dawn Park will host hundreds of people for storytelling and celebration.

The origins of this rustic mountain festival go back to an earlier and tougher period in Casper's history. It started with Neal Forsling, a gusty woman who homesteaded Crimson Dawn in the 1920s with her two young children. She began the tradition of celebrating the annual solstice with a community event deeply rooted in the wild, natural landscape where she and her children dwelled. Later, she donated the land for the park, and the cabin has since been turned into a folksy, primitive museum open to the public during the summer that was named an “Editor’s Pick” by 10Best.com.
