There aren't words for how proud I am of some of the people I've been able to meet and grow up around here in Casper. One of which recently did an incredible thing and saved an elderly mans life while off duty from his day job as a United States Airman.

I first met Brock Gladson my sophomore year at Kelly Walsh High School. Back then I would have never imagined the man that he has become today, but I am proud of what he has become. It's an honor to have him as a friend.

As soon as I heard about his heroic efforts performing CPR on an elderly man in a parking lot while being off duty from his day job as a firefighter in New Mexico. I immediately called him to get a few words from his perspective.

As he told me "It's all thanks to the many years of training that I've had through with the Airforce. It was like second nature for me to run to someone who needed my help. I was just happy that I was able to be of assistance until the ambulance arrived." Brock also mentioned that his sister Kylee Gladson assisted with the save as well. Turns out the Gladson family is full of heroes.

Brock and his family will be moving back to Casper in February of 2019. I for one could not be more proud and excited to see my friend come back to his hometown.

Thanks again Brock for showing us all that it doesn't take a superhero to save lives. It just takes the right training, and the willingness to stay calm in hectic situations.
