A woman was arrested Saturday in Casper after she allegedly attacked her mother with a flashlight and hindered her attempts to call 911.

Sarah Lorreine Romero, 25, was booked into jail on recommended charges of aggravated assault and interfering with a 911 call. She will likely make her initial appearance in Natrona County Circuit Court at 2 p.m. Monday.

According to charging documents, three Casper police officers responded to an undisclosed address shortly before 2:30 a.m. Saturday for a report of a family fight. The woman who reported the incident said that her daughter, Romero, had shown up and assaulted her.

Officers had been at the same home roughly an hour beforehand for anonymous call of a fight in progress. They had not found any sign of a disturbance at that point.

The victim had dried blood on her face, hands and clothing, with at least one bleeding cut on her forehead. She told police that Romero had come into her house and attacked her with a metal flashlight; the victim then fled the residence.

Officers went into the victim's house while she was evaluated by EMS. The officers cleared the house and eventually found Romero underneath a bed. She refused to come out and had to be pulled from beneath the bed by an officer.

Police say Romero was "hostile uncommunicative" when she was arrested, "aside from insulting officers and yelling 'Rape!'"

A green metal flashlight with blood on it was found on the bedroom floor. When they had been clearing the home, police saw blood spattered, smeared and dripped on doors, walls and the floor of the residence.
