If you've been looking for an excuse to give yourself a pat on the back, this is it. Casper was just named a top 10 place to live in Wyoming.

This also serves as proof that the internet cannot make up its mind. Earlier today, Casper was called out as one of the most dangerous places to live by Roadsnacks. Now, Homesnacks thinks we're great. The funny thing is these sites are part of the same company it appears.

Compared to many internet rankings, there's quite a bit of data included in this one. Homesnacks used this as their criteria:

  • Median Home Values
  • Median Income
  • Population Density (Higher better)
  • Unemployment Rate
  • Commute Time
  • Crime
  • Education Levels
  • Health Insurance Coverage
  • Poverty rates

They also placed quite a bit of emphasis on the size of the towns/cities in Wyoming. That makes sense and makes me feel better about sharing this info.

When all is said and done, Casper comes in as the 10th best place to live in Wyoming. The Californians that make up the town of Jackson ranked #4 in case you care.

I get a good laugh out of some of the Roadsnacks rankings that dog us. But, I'd much prefer to brag about lists like this that show Casper and the surrounding area in a much better (and fairer) light.
