Some of those who showed up early to the parade in downtown Casper, got a free meal.

Members of the downtown Casper fire department were flipping flapjacks and cooking up sausage links for those who were hungry.

Captain Justin Leinonen says it's a way for the department to give back to the community.

We just get the satisfaction of having the people come through and have an opportunity to give back to them, offer them some free food, some breakfast and let them come through the station and that's all we get out of it really.

This was the 13th year of the annual pre-parade free pancake breakfast.
