It's a big week for Godsmack that just got a little bigger. That's because the City of Boston has proclaimed Wednesday, Aug. 6 at 'Godsmack Day' in the city.

The hometown heroes will be at Boston's Newbury Comics store at Faneuil Hall (1 N. Marketplace #336, Boston, MA 02109) this Wednesday to celebrate the occasion. As part of the festivities, the band will be on hand to sign copies of their new '1000hp' album and Boston's Mayor Martin J. Walsh will officially declare Aug. 6 as "Godsmack Day" in the city.

Newbury Comics will open at the special time of 8AM ET and the first 500 to pick up the new Godsmack disc will be granted a wristband allowing them to meet the band for the special autograph signing after the presentation. The lineup for the event will start on Clinton Street for those with wristbands at 4PM ET, with the Mayor kicking off the festivities at 4:30 PM ET.

As stated before, it's a big week for Godsmack with the band set to take over New York's iHeartRadio Theater this evening (Aug. 4) for a special intimate performance that will be streamed on the iHeartRadio.com website at 7PM ET.

The disc has already spawned the songs '1000hp' and 'Generation Day,' with 'Something Different,' 'Locked & Loaded' and 'Turning to Stone' serving as other key tracks on the album. You can pick up the disc via iTunes and Amazon. Look for the band playing songs from the new album during their headlining stint on the Rockstar Energy Uproar Festival this summer.
