Alligator Knocking on Front Door Is Not a Neighbor You Want
No matter how tough you may think you are, this video is bound to scare you.
That'll happen when an alligator
walks -- marches? slithers? -- up someone's front step and tries to open the front door.
That's exactly what went down this past Monday in Moncks Corner, S.C. A man named Gary Rogers caught the gator (an animal known to scare your feet out of your Keds making his move on camera for the most frightening sight in the suburbs since Hare Krishnas decided to knock during dinner.
"The gator was not aggressive at all," Rogers said. "He was just kind of trying to find his way out. I mean he was caught between fences, in between a couple of houses. Had no place to go. Went around the air conditioner a couple of times."
Rogers also said the alligator looked like it wanted to get into the backyard pool, which means homeowner Jamie Bailey had better be on high alert come summer.
Bailey says while she can't be sure if the creature rang the doorbell -- maybe she's going door-to-door selling Mary Kay cosmetics -- she did see plenty of scratches.
Bailey said, "I told my husband earlier I said we're going to get a gator crossing sign -- and we're putting it in the front yard." Because a sense of humor is the most important thing you need when dealing with a gator trying to get into your home.
